AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre collaboration that defies usual expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including free additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Disclosed
According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of forbidden practices and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden cult.
The adventure centers on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Transformations
The trailer highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview ends with a dramatic scene showing a character, likely the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Content
Players who finish the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana together with multiple items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Update
This update also adds the game's latest complimentary story episode, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature skills: Naoe debuts a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
