It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has won it all.

That it took up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the opportunity.

Finally, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to produce her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fail again.

Whether this latest epic knock topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was much more difficult to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this knock came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared I've had no rhythm completely," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts activate and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and from that point the right-hander was in motion.

"An opportunity to go out there and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

Once she was out Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the confidence to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if necessary, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this championship need to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will win from any position has only strengthened - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.
